He’s There

Well, it’s no surprise that hurricane season has started and we have had a tropical depression/ storm already! We aren’t quite sure how much rain we had during the storn, since the rain gauge was overflowing, but it was somewhere around 8-10 inches! There’s a lot of water!

We were doing a little looking around and checking on things and had to go across the pond. Of course, the pond is high and water is going through the spillway. To be honest, driving through the water made me nervous. The water was a bit high and it was moving pretty fast!

water is high and over the drive of the spillway; He's there in the flood

As husband went to drive across the spillway, I had him stop so I could take a picture. As always, that still small voice was speaking and this time I was listening.

“When you pass through the waters”

PJ Time – Book Review

PJ Time book cover

My kids are no longer little! Where did time go? At the ages they are now (15, 17, & 20), bedtimes don’t look anything like they used to! No one is getting a bedtime story and needing to be tucked in anymore. As a matter of fact, most every night ends with us going to bed before them and sometimes, they tuck us in and turn out the light!

But given the opportunity to review this really cute book, “PJ Time”, gave me the chance to reminisce on the days when they were small and we would snuggle together to read a devotional or a bedtime story. Even as they grew older, each of them would do their own devotions. Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 Our hope and prayer as parents, is that they will continue those habits long after we aren’t tucking them in!

“Grace Looks Amazing on You” Book Review

I was so excited to receive a copy of “Grace Looks Amazing on You- 100 Days of Reflecting God’s Love.” This was an unbelievable opportunity, not to mention how this came to be!

I was checking email and came across this offer to do a book review. My thought was that it may be a scam or just junk mail. As I continued checking emails, I came across my daily devo from Proverbs 31 ministries. (If you don’t receive these, you are really missing out!) I don’t read them every day, but for certain on the days that I do, God has usually provided just what I need. This day was no different!

I opened the devotion and straight away, I noticed the author’s name. It was the very same author of the book that I had just been given the opportunity to review. Now I don’t believe in karma or coincidences. I believe in divine appointments from God Himself. So here I am, holding this beautiful, hard cover book and writing a book review! God is truly amazing and so is His grace!
