No One Like Him

That little bull calf is so cute but he is so different from any other on the farm. He is almost speckled in his color pattern. There is not another calf like him, and likely never will be again. We have never had anything like him and probably couldn’t even breed the same way and get the same results. He is unique.

Most of our cattle have very similar markings and color patterns. Most are shades of red with white on the feet and goggles around their eyes. We have a few that are “painted” with more white or are lighter in their coloring. Husband always says if he had black cattle he would never be able to tell them all apart. These girls are known by name simply because they all are distinct and recognizable even though they all look similar. Each has a little something that tells who they are.

But this one calf is more distinct than anything we have ever had. It is unusual and there isn’t anything else like it.

There’s no one like him.

God spoke to me so real on Sunday morning in church that I pulled my phone out and made some notes. Husband thought I was texting and then he realized what I was doing. We were singing a song and praising God for who He is and the image of this calf flashed in my mind. Not your typical Sunday service thought process!

Every other God is an idol,
Who cannot see and cannot hear,
There is One true living God. We crown you King of Glory, There’s no one like The Lord!

In the same way that there is not another animal in that pasture that even closely resembles that speckled calf, there is not another god that is like Jehovah. They are all cows, but that one stands out in a crowd and gets your attention.

There is only one true God! In our modern culture, we are told that there are many ways to heaven, many gods and even that there is no afterlife. I believe in ONE TRUE LIVING GOD! He is the way, the truth and the life! He said in John 14, “no one comes to the Father except through me!”

He has gone to prepare a place for us and that place is Heaven. He did that so that once we die or if He returns for us before a natural death, we have a place with Him in a real place called Heaven. Do not be deceived by the enemy of your soul. The evil one desires to keep you from somewhere he cannot go. His goal is to cheat you out of eternal life with your Father.

There is only one true living God.

The Father’s heart is for you and His desire is for you to live and not die, live with Him forever. All He asks is that you love Him, serve Him, believe and honor Him in your life. Live for Him and not for yourself.

Even the Israelites, His chosen people, strayed away from Him. Moses went up on the mountain to speak with God and came down to see them worshipping an idol, a golden calf. Every thing we put in God’s place is an idol. Money, jobs, friends, even our own selfish desires become idols when we put them first above God.

Those things cannot see and cannot hear, but our God, He hears us when we pray. He sees us in our struggles and He answers when we call. He has done it for me time and time again. And He will do it for you. It hasn’t always been easy and lots of times He didn’t come or answer when or how I would’ve liked. But He is God and He is faithful.

Do you know Him as the one true living God? If you don’t, ask Him to reveal Himself to you. There are stories coming in from all over the world of God speaking directly to and showing Himself real to those who are calling on His name. He will do it for you!

He loves you. His heart is for you, not against you. There is no one like Him and I encourage you to go after Him today!
