The Circle E Life

Many have tried to live without Jesus and many are still trying to live without reason. Do you have a Christmas tree in your home? Are there lights hanging on or inside your house? Will you give and receive gifts on or around December 25th? Is there a party that you will attend this month at your job, at your child’s school or with a group of family members? Will you sing jingle bells or Rudolph?

Will you sit on a jolly saint’s lap and ask for all of the things that you want? Will you enjoy or complain about the hustle and bustle that the holidays bring? Will you get a day or two off from work simply because someone declared it a federal holiday? If so, you are guilty of celebrating Christmas.

We spent some time out in the Midwest before Thanksgiving and one evening we saw some strange lights in the sky! It was very unusual to us, so it was very exciting, and even a little concerning. Everyone else, that lives around there, was not surprised because they had seen the lights before. The lights belong to a particular satellite company that brings rural areas internet service.

I’m not saying we thought that the aliens were landing, but it was very unusual to see this string of lights moving across the sky. We were able to see them a second night, and it started all kinds of topics of conversation amongst our family. We might have even considered a few conspiracy theories!

I was out, looking at the weaned heifer pen the other day and our dog, Jacey, had followed me. The heifers are in the pasture in front of the house and they came up to the fence, not because of me, but because of the dog. They always say curiosity killed the cat, but this is about curiosity and the calf!

The cows in general find the dogs interesting. On occasion a momma cow may even feel threatened by the dog or have a desire to protect her calf, although Jacey is NOT a threat!
