Recently, while flying home, we spotted our home from the plane! It was really crazy to see everything from that perspective. Sometimes it’s nice to see the big picture!
Our oldest gave Husband a large map of our property from a flyover perspective for Christmas. We had one from about 10-12 years ago, before we began to clear land and develop the property. We got the map a few weeks after Christmas and then right on the heels of that, we caught the photo from the plane. The two instances caused me to have a “verily, verily” kind of moment.

In the Bible, whenever the words “verily, verily” or any variation of such were repeated, God wanted our attention. I took the two almost exact images as the same attention grabber.
How often do we get stuck in what we can see? How many times are we bogged down with life because of our straight ahead view? We “can’t see the forrest for the trees” per se.
This happens to me a lot. It’s really, for the Christian, a lack of faith. It’s hard to see what we cannot see when we cannot see it! It can be difficult to see the unseen. Hebrews 11:1.

But God has this vision, this big picture view. He sees way more than we can see from the ground! When I am in my yard, I can’t see the highway and the cars coming my way or passing by. I can only see what’s right in front of me. But He can see it all.
He sees every path that will cross and where it intersects. He sees every interaction and those that should have happened but didn’t! He sees what’s behind, before, and all around me. I can’t see what He can see.
He sees the bigger picture.

So take a moment and look at what’s around you and then relax. Take a breath and in that moment, know that He is seeing so much more than what you see. He doesn’t see the family issue, the financial problem or the health concern. He sees the BIG picture.
He sees the beginning, the middle and the end. He is not only watching and seeing, but He is in control and He sees the end of the thing and it is better than the beginning and what we can see!
Lord, give us your eyes and your vision to see the BIG PICTURE!
