Well, it’s no surprise that hurricane season has started and we have had a tropical depression/ storm already! We aren’t quite sure how much rain we had during the storn, since the rain gauge was overflowing, but it was somewhere around 8-10 inches! There’s a lot of water!

We were doing a little looking around and checking on things and had to go across the pond. Of course, the pond is high and water is going through the spillway. To be honest, driving through the water made me nervous. The water was a bit high and it was moving pretty fast!

As husband went to drive across the spillway, I had him stop so I could take a picture. As always, that still small voice was speaking and this time I was listening.

Storing Treasures

We have been storing up treasures! Most would think that I am crazy for calling a bunch of jars of fruits and veggies treasures, but that is what they are to me! I have even said before that my laundry room is my favorite room in the house, but that is because it also serves as a canning pantry. I love to be able to see all of the colorful jars and all of the hard work on display.

Spring has Sprung!

Spring has sprung in south Mississippi! You know what that means? It means an occasional cool morning, and if you are lucky, a pleasant day with the remainder of the days ushering summer in as fast as it can!

But the other thing is means, is lots of new growth. A few weeks ago, I had a week off from work and was able to go out and turkey hunt with husband. I had plenty of opportunity and even missed one. That was a sad day because mom doesn’t miss much!

But while we were sitting in the edge of the woods, calling the turkey and waiting, I noticed a young tree growing as it laid across my boot. I was completely drawn to how clearly I could see the new growth on the plant. The more I thought about that new growth, the more I saw spring’s new growth everywhere! Spring has definitely sprung!
