Missions is something that is very close to our hearts. Whether the mission is across the globe or across the street, being the hands and feet of Jesus everywhere we can is the call for every Christian.
This is one of the reasons that I was so excited, and didn’t think twice, about reviewing and participating in the Advancing Native Missions Gifting Catalog from Advancing Native Missions. This awesome organization has a heart to carry out Matthew 24:14 and ensure that the whole world hears the Gospel.
ANM works with local (native) mission ministries to reach the more than 7,000 people groups that do not have an effective witness for Jesus Christ. ANM works to build the local body using native missionaries that already understand the language and the culture. This also helps to circumvent the increasing numbers of countries that do not allow Western countries to send missionaries.
With the season of giving upon us, what better way to give than to show the love of Jesus and fulfill the Great Commission? Many times we think, or make excuses, that we cannot fulfill that calling without actually going, but donating, sending, and funding those who can is one way that we can still GO!
Giving, especially to ministries that are “good ground” is something that we can all get behind and support and we all need that this year! Advancing Native Missions is also known for their financial stewardship. I don’t know about you, but I am very careful where I sow my seed. If you haven’t been, I would encourage to investigate and be aware of where your money is going and how it is being used.
ANM is very open with how their funds are used. You can see their information on the Stewardship page of their website. I also like to confirm things using an outside source. Charity Navigator is a great resource for this. 87% of what you give actually goes to perform the service you are giving to. That is phenomenal! So when you give, you can know that you are actually giving to what you think you are!
My family and I chose to give the Animals Gift Package ($116 value) . This package includes 2 goats and 12 chickens! Do you know what a family can do with that? Not only can it provide sustained food, such as milk and eggs for the family, but it can also provide income. Many families sell the milk and eggs for income. What a blessing!
If you are looking for something different this year, something out of the box, please consider gifting through Advancing Native Missions. After all of the ups and downs that 2020 has had to offer, what better way to end this year than by giving to others. Maybe you want to give a Bible, or animals, beekeeping supplies, or even begin monthly support! Whatever your budget and whatever you feel led to give, GIVE!
