If you don’t know, the cow isn’t supposed to lay down! This crazy cow got in the chute and laid down! Everything works better, especially breeding when the cow doesn’t lay down in the chute!
Thankfully, on this particular day, we worked the cattle and everything went according to plan…..this time!
This time of year there is practically a new baby born every morning! Calving season is underway. Husband is going to bed checking cows and waking up checking for babies. Who doesn’t like waking up to a new baby every morning?
Life has been busy and lots of things have changed for us. My creative side has been just about buried and when I finally “hear” something to write about, I just can’t find the time or energy. I was honestly considering closing the blog site down. What even is there new to write about anymore? I’ve written on just about everything on the farm and who is even reading this anymore?
Well, it’s no surprise that hurricane season has started and we have had a tropical depression/ storm already! We aren’t quite sure how much rain we had during the storn, since the rain gauge was overflowing, but it was somewhere around 8-10 inches! There’s a lot of water!
We were doing a little looking around and checking on things and had to go across the pond. Of course, the pond is high and water is going through the spillway. To be honest, driving through the water made me nervous. The water was a bit high and it was moving pretty fast!
As husband went to drive across the spillway, I had him stop so I could take a picture. As always, that still small voice was speaking and this time I was listening.
