Let the Sun Shine on Me!

I was watching our baby this morning while we were watching our online church service. That sweet baby is getting older and loves to lay where it is warm. She also wants to be right where we are, so she found herself a place where the morning sun was shining in while we had church.

You hear that? … where the sun was shining in.

As I looked at her lying there in the sun, I was overwhelmed at the thought of the sun shining in. As she laid there, she was completely at peace. She was happy and content. She was relaxed and not stressed. She wasn’t nervous. She was totally at rest.

I heard Him speak to my heart, “That’s what happens when I shine on you. That’s what happens when you rest in me, in the sonshine. You will be happy no matter what’s going on around you. You won’t need to be nervous or stressed. You will be completely at peace.”

Psalms 84:11 ESV says, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

No good thing will He withhold. He will give you rest. You will have perfect peace. Happiness and contentment will be your normal. You will find favor and honor where ever you go. It doesn’t mean trouble won’t come. It just means even in the midst of whatever, as long as we stay in the sonshine, we can have what He has for us!

Why? Because you’ve have found the Son. God knows I need the reminder! I try to wander and do my own thing. I go out and try to make peace and make happiness. I even try to make those things for others. But He reminded me today, to just get in the sonshine. If I will just stay in the sonshine, everything I need or want will be found there. And when I remind others to stay in the sonshine, that they will have those things for themselves.

Takes me back to one of my favorite scriptures.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

Numbers 6:24-26

I pray you are reminded today as well to get into the sunshine and let the “Son” shine on you. There is nothing better than the warmth of his presence and the peace that comes from knowing He has set His favor and His face on you.

Here’s a song to listen to and remind you of His Sonshine! https://youtu.be/Zp6aygmvzM4
